[edit] History
During the rise of the Terran Confederacy, the Terrans of Moria had created a large number of subsidiary mining guilds to mine for resources on other planets. Fearing the Confederates would move in to "regulate" their operations, two mining guilds, the Kelanis Guild and the Morian Mining Coalition, joined forces to form the Kel-Morian Combine. This new paramilitary organization promised to protect any other mining guilds that felt they were oppressed by Confederate policies.
[edit] The Guild Wars and the Aftermath
The Confederacy and the Kel-Morian Combine came to blows during the Guild Wars. After four years of battle, the Terran Confederacy declared victory. Moria was left independent, but its supporting guilds were annexed. Since then, Moria has founded new mining colonies and provided the Terran Confederacy with so much money that they are effectively immune to Confederate laws.
The Combine became the largest non-Confederate organization in Terran space.
[edit] Fall of the Confederacy
After the defeat of the Terran Confederacy by the terrorist organization, the Sons of Korhal, led by Arcturus Mengsk, the Kel-Morian Combine fell under the control of the new Terran Dominion, successor to the Sons of Korhal.
The Dominion Engineering Corps, an arm of the Kel-Morian Combine, assisted the Dominion by constructing a number of space stations for them.
[edit] Relationship with the United Earth Directorate
With the arrival of the United Earth Directorate in the Koprulu Sector, the Combine did not take arms against them. Instead, after the UED defeated the Terran Dominion on Korhal, the Kel-Morian Combine created an arrangement with the UED similar to the one they had with the Terran Confederacy, effectively bribing the UED not to attack them.
They didn't expect an attack by Infested Kerrigan and Fenix, however. Kerrigan and Fenix were there to steal mineral supplies to assist in their upcoming attack on Korhal, with the purpose of defeating the UED there. Ironically, Fenix was so offended by the Kel-Morian Combine's bribery that he stood by as Kerrigan defeated their armies and infested some of their people, transforming them into Infested Terrans.
The Kel-Morian Combine is led by Gen Mah Sakai. Its official color is green. In actual gameplay their color is teal.
