Cooke has trained in wushu, tae kwon do and karate. His awards include Black Belt's 1985 Competitor of the Year and five grand champion titles at the U.S. World and U.S. Open Karate tournaments.
He had a leading role in the sci-fi/martial arts thriller Heatseeker (1995), which was a follow-up to the Cynthia Rothrock vehicle China O'Brien (1990) in which he also appeared.
