Keiichiro Washizuka is a character in the Last Blade fighting game series.
[edit] Background
Washizuka is a unit leader of the Shinsengumi, a police-like group which existed around the time of the Bakumatsu era. He is a firm believer in restoring order to Japan, and in the old ways of Samurai swordfighting. As such, he carries a very serious persona. He is extremely loyal to his Shinsengumi unit, and is a friend to Sanada Kojiro. He is the only one in the unit who is aware of her true identity.
[edit] Gameplay
Washizuka is the only true charge character in the game. His style consists of a basic projectile, an anti-air along with a rapid striking technique and a unique charging move. The charge is considered to be his greatest asset as he is able to link it into a low, mid, or high hitting attack after his shoulder makes contact with the opponent.
[edit] Trivia
- Washizuka bears a striking resemblance to Saitou Hajime of Rurouni Kenshin fame, down to the stance of his most powerful move, the Gatotsu. His pose during his Super Desperation Move, almost perfectly mirrors Saito's fighting stance from the Trust and Betrayal OVA. Also, both characters are members of the Shinsengumi group.
- Washizuka also bears a cross-shaped scar on his face, similar to that of Himura Kenshin.
