[edit] 15 or 15.5?

At one point in the article, kegs are pronounced 15 gal. Otherwise, they're referred to as 15.5. I assume the second is correct, since it's half of 31.

[edit] Opening Table Thing

I dislike the opening table of equivilent values. The conversions have WAY to many significant figures, and the superscripts and subscripts tend to run together. I'd like to ask about the table before changing this article though, as I like the comment about the space-keg and how you cited your source for that little factoid. The table itself needs to be cleaned up a little though CoolMike 06:11, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I agree. At the minimum, it could be put into actual table mode, instead of simply using a <pre> box. Veritos 23:58, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)
  • The following is nonsense: Expression of the size of a keg in astronomical units presents a bit of a quandary. In the absence of gravity, CO2 comes out of solution with the liquid beer. However, Dutch scientists have invented a device for "space beer" which releases beer globules consumable with a straw. With this developement coming on the tails of their invention of a vacuum-powered space-pizza table suggests a dramatic increase in the quality of life among astronauts. --Wetman 05:22, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Why doesn't this article explain how a keg works??

[edit] Alabama Keg Law

Changed this to reflect the fact that there are lots of states with keg laws, and the fact that alabama's proposed law failed. Also changed heading to "Keg Law Registration". Instead linked to another wikipedia article about keg registration laws. I touched that article up a little, but it still needs work that I can't really do right now due to wikipedia ignorance.

[edit] Keg Warning Label

Would the author be able to provide a picture of the warning label and what state requires the label?

I was the auther of that original post, and that is a good idea about the picture, but would it be considered to commercial? I am in no way affiliated with Anheuser-Busch, I just happened to think it was interesting how they had a warning lable on the keg cap. I'll see if I can't find the cap, or maybee even a nicer one and take a picture of it...Thanks alot for the suggestion, sorry for the delayed response. CoolMike 16:11, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kegerator??

Surely a link to a page telling you how to build your own keg fridge doesn't need its own sub-headline. Should it even be on the "Keg" page at all?

No, it shouldn't. It's an ad.

[edit] space beer

exactly what space beer (a globule consumable with a straw) is, or how it answers the problem of kegs at high elevation is unclear at best. does that remark even need to be there? Youdontsmellbad 05:56, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Picture is of what size keg?

It should be clarified what size keg is illustrated in the picture.

  • Good suggestion, I added the kegs size to the caption. Not sure if I should include the US Gallon text or just call it a 15.5 gallon keg, suggestions would be helpful. CoolMike 16:17, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Weight of 15.5 Gallon keg? 145lbs or 170lbs?

The list notes that:

  • Kegs usually weigh 145 lb.

but the table below says they weigh 170lbs. OSHA says 162lbs. And the Australian equivalent to OSHA (I'm guessing) says 62kg (~136lbs). I'm going with OSHA on this one, and deleting the 145lbs line and leaving the table as is.
