Kebri Dar (woreda)

Kebri Dar is one of the 47 woredas in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Korahe Zone, Kebri Dar is bordered on the south by Debeweyin, on the west by the Gode Zone, on the northwest by the Degehabur Zone, on the north by Shekosh, on the east by the Werder Zone, and on the southeast by Shilavo. The major town in Kebri Dar is Kebri Dar.
This woreda is primarily inhabited by the Darod clan of the Somali people.
Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 135,230, of whom 60,322 were males and 74,908 were females; 36,191 or 26.76% of its population are urban dwellers, which is greater than the Zone average of 18.2%. Information is not available on the area of Kebri Dar, so its density cannot be calculated.[1]
