KDE Light
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
KDE light is a combination of several open source components that together form a complete desktop environment. The main part of KDE light is kdesktop, which is responsible for drawing the desktop background and icons. It uses Openbox as a lightweight and easy to use X window manager. To provide a kicker-like panel, the GTK+ based fbpanel was modified. The developers are trying to provide a continuous look & feel on all Qt and GTK+ based applications.
The panel has been designed as simple as possible, to gain straight access to the most needed applications. There is also an iconify button, so that one could always minimize open programs to have a look at your desktop.
