KCUF

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

KCUF is the call sign of a fictional radio station (located in the equally fictional Kinneret, California) in Thomas Pynchon's The Crying of Lot 49.

The call letters are often simply used in place of the exclamation that they spell in reverse.

In The Illuminatus! Trilogy, the acronym KCUF stands for the "Knights of Christianity United in Faith", likely as an homage to Pynchon's usage.

A number of internet streaming radio stations, e.g. http://www.urdomain.us/kcuf.htm, call themselves "KCUF".

Also in the song "Subculture" by Styles of Beyond the phrase "Cause I don't give a KCUF, like the f-word reversed" is used.
