The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) operates the KCR Feeder Bus routes in order to complement its rail systems. Currently, KCRC operates 21 feeder bus routes.

[edit] Operation

KCRC provides feeder bus services for the convenience of passengers using its networks. KCR Bus' strategic routes provide access to and between many KCR stations for thousands of passengers everyday. The KCRC's integrated fare system also allows East Rail, West Rail and Light Rail passengers who use Octopus cards to enjoy the free feeder bus services that link many housing estates to East Rail stations, West Rail stations and Light Rail stops.

The Corporation operates a total of 15 routes, including West Rail and Light Rail feeder bus services, residential routes and express routes, as well as an additional six East Rail feeder routes operated under a KMB franchise.

The KCR Bus fleet comprises 143 buses, which provide service for 19 hours every day.

Most of the KCR Feeder Bus routes are located in the New Territories. These routes are serviced by air-conditioned Dennis Tridents and Dennis Darts. Some routes may also be serviced by Leyland Olympians. KCR currently owns 128 buses, and they operate some city buses in Hong Kong.

Between 2002 and 2004, KCRC had acquired some buses from Citybus and New World First Bus on loan. Later, KCRC acquired a number of Dennis Tridents from New World First Bus.
