"Weird Al" Yankovic is KCPR's most famous alumni. His song "My Blogona" was first recorded in the men's bathroom across the hall from the station.

KCPR is also well recognized in the music industry when it comes to college radio and independant music. This can be attributed to it's longevity, and consistent attitude of playing the best music not played on other radio stations.
