KCAB-LP is a low-power television station serving Casa Grande, Arizona, as an America One affiliate. It provides analog over-the-air service on UHF 28 from its transmitter in downtown Casa Grande. KCAB-LP is owned by Central Arizona Broadcasting of Casa Grande.

[edit] History

KCAB-LP began with an original construction permit granted to Central Arizona Broadcasting on October 18, 2002, originally on channel 27 as K27HF. Central Arizona Broadcasting was running a station on channel 47 called K47FW, presumably on Special Temporary Authorization, as there was no K47FW listed in the FCC database, nor was there a channel 47 listed in Casa Grande.

Central Arizona Broadcasting began to experience severe interference on channel 27 from Phoenix station KAZT-CA, and applied to the FCC to move to channel 28. The FCC granted the application and the station was licensed on October 27, 2005 as Casa Grande's second local over-the-air television station. At the same time, the station took the call letters KCAB-LP.

[edit] Programming

KCAB-LP airs the schedule from America One television. Local programming includes basketball games from Central Arizona College in nearby Coolidge.
