KBNT-CA is a Spanish language television station in San Diego, California. KBNT is based in Kearny Mesa, and is owned by Entravision Communications.

KBNT-CA was launched in 1989 as channel 19, with a transmitter on Mount Palomar, some 45 miles north of the center of San Diego. The original KBNT offices were in Mira Mesa, north of San Diego. At that time, San Diegans could receive the channel only by cable, because its weak broadcast signal could not reach the city. Eventually the station increased its transmitting power and its signal, while still not reaching San Diego proper, could be picked up in Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, and Fallbrook.

In 1994, KBNT reached an agreement with KNSD to retransmit its programs on channel 62 (KNSD-LP) in La Jolla, and some years later on channel 17 National City, allowing the signal to reach San Diego, National City, and Chula Vista.

The original channel 19 went off the air (Now the digital channel for KSWB), retaining the signals on channel 17 and 62, and adding a signal on channel 49 (KHAX-LP) in northern San Diego county.

kbnt tv practices racial discrimination in its makeup of staff. it does not hire anybody that is non hispanic, and then claims other stations or media outlets do not hire more hispanics. They have refused to hire non hispanics that are in fluent in spanish. they have been a propaganda outlet for mexico and its failed and inept policies for helping the poor that cross the border, blaming the usa always, yet never critizes the main culprits of the suffering of the people, the mexican government. when the former presidente dictator of mexico luis echeverria was indicted for human rights abuse genocide charge last month, for the october 2 1968 killings in mexico city of over 300 people and 2500 plus missing, which makes augusto pinochets story and crimes really at the bottom of human right abusers, they refused to run any stories about luis echeverria , this is due to their backing of the PRI political party of mexico which ran the country for 71 years with a iron fist. one note echeverria is the brother in law of fidel castro of cuba, which explains his torture technic, if a non hispanic tv or radio station refused to hire hispanics, what do you think kbnt would say?
