Kaye Lazar

Kaye Lazar (b. June 19, 1971), a television entertainer based in Richmond, Virginia, appears weekly on the cable television talk series The Gorgeous George Show and occasionally hosts the show, whereupon it becomes The Kaye Lazar Cavalcade of Fun. The half-Irish Lazar, also a radio host in Ireland several years ago, has a peculiar talent for mimicry and occasionally works as an impressionist; his version of "Johnny Carson" remains widely regarded in Virginia as the equal of Rich Little's. Lazar is also an extremely skilled dancer, having appeared as a utility dancer in several Broadway musicals while in his teens and early twenties, and his signature "Kevindance" has been favorably compared with Fred Astaire's best work, especially the famous "revolving gyration," a graphic demonstration of the power of centrifugal syncopation. Lazar seldom dances on his television shows, however, preferring to hold dancing in reserve as an emergency audience treat. An accomplished photographer, Lazar found himself being photographed with various celebrities quite frequently, and began amassing a collection now ranging into thousands of such snapshots. Lazar also acts in films, appearing uncredited as a juror in The Murder of Mary Phagan (1988) and in several short films, and has written for "Throttle Magazine" under the name "Kevin Kravitz". On the Gorgeous George show website, the names Kaye and Kevin are used interchangeably to refer to Lazar, but no surname is given other than Lazar.
