From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kayadra is a village near Mount Abu in Rajasthan state, western India. In 1178 Mohammed Ghori attacked Pattan. Battle was fought at Kayadara. Ghori's army was completely routed in the conflict, but somehow he escaped with his defeated army from Gujarat.
Mularaja-II, the then King of Patan, was a mere boy-ruler, his forces were led by his heroic mother Naikidevi, who inflicted such a crushing and conclusive defeat on Ghori that the foreigner did not dare again during his life time to cast his greedy eye upon Patan. After this loss Ghori never again entered India through Gujarat.
