Kaya toast

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kaya toast is a popular snack amongst Singaporeans, and a snack unique to Singapore, having a status tantamount to a national dish.[1] [2] [3] [4].

Essentially, kaya and butter are spread on two pieces of charcoal-grilled bread and ready to serve.

Singaporeans like to consume this snack with a cup of tea or coffee. Ya Kun Kaya Toast is one of the several franchises which has made this snack more than just a breakfast item, given the proliferation of its outlets in recent times. And, more often than not, coffeeshops usually sell this snack as well.
