[edit] Biography
She was born in California but the family soon moved to North Carolina where she was raised. After high school Hooper attended Isothermal Community College where she took business classes which she soon decided did not interest her. She switched her course of study to literature and history and begun writing which had long been an interest of hers. Upon receiving a typewriter that she requested for Christmas she began in earnest on a novel. In 1980 at the age of 22 she sold her first novel, the Regency romance Lady Thief. The novel was published by Dell Publishing. Since then she has had more than 60 novels published.
