Kay Alden

Kay Alden is the award-winning writer (and former head and co-head writer) for the soap opera The Young And The Restless. Alden is currently consulting on All My Children.
Alden started writing for the Y&R in 1974 and took over as head writer in 1998 when series creator William J. Bell stepped down from the position. As head writer, the show lost about 2 million viewers (Daytime TV ratings)
There is a scholarship in her name from Emporia State University, in Emporia, Kansas.

Alden has been nominated for, and has won, more than a dozen Daytime Emmy Awards since the late 70s, and the Writers Guild Of America Award.
