Kavos

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kavos is a town on the Greek island Corfu. Originally a small fishing village, it has grown into a resort filled with bars and clubs. It is located an hour away from Corfu city by bus. It is a popular holiday destination for young people, especially for Club 18-30 holidays.

There is a five-mile long beach extending alongside the town, with many watersports on offer, as well as some boat trips. From the beach, it is possible to see the Greek mainland. Generally, during the daytime Kavos is fairly quiet with many people sleeping off the effects of the previous night on the beach, but at nighttime the clubs open and the town fills with drunken revellers. There are over 75 bars, 4 discos, 36 tavernas, 6 restaurants and 8 cafes in Kavos.

In July 2003, five female Club 18-30 reps were sacked for taking part in a competition on the beach involving sucking off the male contestants.

There are also many doctors' surgeries in Kavos, although several were involved in a scandal when it was exposed that they were attempting to give patients drugs which were inappropriate for their symptoms in order to extort money out of them. [1]
