Katsuren, Okinawa

Katsuren (勝連町; -chō) was a town located in Nakagami District, Okinawa, Japan. As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 13,530 and the density of 986.87 persons per km². The total area is 13.71 km². Katsuren is home to the castle Katsuren gusuku. On April 1, 2005, Gushikawa-shi, Ishikawa-shi, Katsuren-chō, and Yonashiro-chō merged to form Uruma City.
