Katherine Evelyn Anita Cassidy (born November 25, 1986) is an American singer and actress. She is the daughter of 70's pop idol, David Cassidy and former model, Sherry Benedon. Cassidy was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in Calabasas, California, where she now currently lives with her mother, stepfather Richard Benedon, and half-sisters Jenna and Jamie.

As a child, Cassidy took tumbling and eventually became a cheerleader for the California Flyers, a competitive team. She cheered as a freshman for Calabasas High School where she attended classes. As a teenager, Cassidy became interested in show business.

She took acting, singing and dance lessons and despite her father's disapproval, as Katie Cassidy, she had one CD-single, I Think I Love You, released by Artemis Records on July 16, 2002 - the same song that was a #1 hit for her father in 1970.

However, her cover failed to attract a large number of fans or a record deal, but Cassidy was able to land a role in Bubblegum Babylon, VH1's TV special on pop idols and the music business to help promote her singing career. While she was still signed with Artemis Records, she was introduced to the popular boy band, Dream Street.

After her stint in the music business, Cassidy turned to modeling. She modeled for Abercrombie and Fitch and Guess?'s Rock and Republic line in 2004. She reportedly has plans to continue her modeling in the future. Modeling helped open the door to Cassidy's acting career. She is currently dating singer Jesse McCartney.

She landed a number of jobs, including a recurring role as Zoe on 7th Heaven, where she has appeared several times. Following that, she appeared in the one-hour drama, Sex, Love & Secrets but the series was cancelled after a few episodes. Her 2006 projects include a small role in the horror remake When a Stranger Calls. She is scheduled to star in another horror remake, the murderous Christmas classic Black Christmas. The film is due to be released towards the end of 2006.

She is scheduled to star in the remake of the hit television series Dallas as Lucy Ewing...beating the likes of Kristin Cavallari and Jessica Simpson filming begins in January.
