Kathleen Matthews is currently EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT – GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS FOR MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL. Matthews is a former anchor for ABC 7 News/ WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C. She was co-anchor of ABC 7 News at 5 on weeknights, and also co-host of Capital Sunday along with Leon Harris. She is an award-winning producer, reporter, and news anchor who has covered news in Washington for more than 25 years. An honors graduate from Stanford University in 1975, Matthews has been awarded nine local Emmys. Her further credits include the prestigious regional Edward R. Murrow award, the George Foster Peabody award, the David Brinkley award, Associated Press awards, and the Gracie Allen award from the American Women in Radio and Television. In 2002, she was named a Washingtonian of the Year by Washingtonian magazine. She is married to Chris Matthews, host of Hardball and The Chris Matthews Show; they have three children.

Kathleen Matthews has accepted the newly formed position of Executive Vice President of Global Communications and Public Affairs at Marriott International, effective December 1, 2006.
