The Katangan franc was used in the southern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo between 1960-1963.

Denominations were 1 and 5 franc coins of 1961, as well as 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 franc notes. The 1962 series included a 100, 500 and 1,000 franc note.
