Kasumi Gyoubu

Kasumi Gyōbu (japanese: 霞 刑部, hiragana: かすみ ぎょうぶ, rōmaji: Kasumi Gyoubu) a character featured in the Japanese anime Basilisk Kouga Ninpou Chou (known as the Kouga Ninja Scrolls in English). Gyoubu was to be chosen as one of ten shinobi to represent the Kouga Manjidani clan in their war against the opposing Iga Tsubagakure clan.
Tall and powerfully muscled, Gyoubu is stong enough to break an enemy in half with nothing more than his bare hands. Despite his massive size though, Gyoubu's specialty is stealth. By merging with the surface area of an object, Gyoubu is able to move and attack in complete secrecy. There are limits to his abilities however. First of all; the surface area of an object apparently must be at least equal to his own in order to merge or move on and it must have physical contact with a surface of similar dimensions in order for him traverse from one to the other. Second; only his body can merge so he must strip naked in order to use his technique. Third; merging offers him no defensive benefits as any attacks to the surface of the object transfer to him as well.
Like most of the Koga, Gyoubu bears an overwhelming hatred for the Iga, although in his case it's more of a personal vendetta. As a boy, Gyoubu witnessed his father being murdered by an Iga squad and vowed to one day take revenge.
[edit] Battles
Gyoubu & Saemon VS Yashamaru: A rather minor conflict that took place at nighttime. Kisaragi Saemon, who was currently struggling against Yashamaru's garotte wires, was assisted by Gyoubu after he had emerged through the wall, resulting in grabbing Yashamaru by the throat. Gyoubu, who at the time had the intention of letting Yashamaru go by the moment, ended up crushing his neck due to the fact that Yashamaru unleashed extra stored garotte cutting wires as an attempt to kill Gyoubu.
Gyoubu VS Tenzen: This was a battle that would take place while on an Iga boat that was headed towards Gennosuke's current location. Gyoubu at many times kept running away (merging with miscellaneous objects) from Tenzen. After a few minor blows by Gyoubu and Tenzen, Gyoubu attempted another retreat, in which Akeginu sprayed her blood technique on Gyoubu's body, resulting in him no longer being transparent. This led to Gyoubu merging with a nearby sliding door (who didn't realize that he was not safe), and then to be stabbed through the heart by Tenzen, effectively ending his life.
