Kasrawad is a town and a nagar panchayat in West Nimar district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Kasrawad is located at 22.13° N 75.6° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 169 metres (554 feet).


Kasrawad is a town in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh state, in central India. It is 17 Km in east from National Highway 3 (Agra to Mumbai) and about 100 km far from the industrial capital of MP the Historcal place INDORE. The town is only 5 km far from south bank of the Holy Narmada River, It was the captil of "KUSH" son of lord Ram so it is nammed Kasrawad. The ancient and historical city Maheshwar is 5 km far from Kasrawad.

Maheshwar is noted as a center for weaving colorful cotton saris, with distinctive designs involving stripes, checks and floral borders. Also other material used for making kurts etc are made here. Reva Soceity and some small local companies are doing this work but the major is coming form Reva Soceity. As it is the city of God Shiva, lots of Shiv mandirs are situated here : Kashivashvnath, Rajrajeshwar, Omkareshwar, tilbhandeshwar, Kaleshwar, jaleshwar, Pandharinath etc etc. Maheshwar is full of festivals and all celebrate , some are listed below Nag Panchami, Gudi Padava, Teez (New year celebrations according to hindu calender), All Mondays of Shravan month, ( DOLA of Kashivishvnath on last monday, bhang is served as prashadh of god shiva), Mahashivratri, , Samoti Amavas etc etc....all other indian festivals

There are lots of place to visite in Kasrawad. The Bhavani Mata Temple, ancient Kailask kund and Baba ki Mazar on Gangleshwar parvat. Every year the Gangaleshver Fair is organised by Nagar Panchayat in the winter season .

There is cinema hall named "New Nimar Talkies" owned by Jaiswal family.

Cotton, Soyabeen, Red chilli and bananas are main crops in this area. The Kasrawad area is developing very rapidly. There is Thread manufacturing unit Maral Overseas in Bhilgaon village 3 km away from kasrawad. Kasrawad is also famous for the Band parties.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Kasrawad had a population of 19,035. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Kasrawad has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66%, and female literacy is 48%. In Kasrawad, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
