Kasaragod (occasionally spelt Kasarkode; Malayalam :കാസര്‍ഗോഡ് ) is a city and a municipality in Kasaragod district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is the administrative headquarters of Kasargod district.

As of 2001 India census^GRIndia, Kasaragod had a population of 52,683. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Kasaragod has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 76%. In Kasaragod, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
