[edit] Image Tagging Image:Sandie1.jpg

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Sandie1.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. CLW 01:09, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Sandie1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Sandie1.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. CLW 01:09, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright issues - sleeve notes and album covers

I've removed the sleeve notes which you added to Sandie and Me (Sandie Shaw album) as these are surely coprighted and this would therefore be a breach of copyright. I've also added '''{{album cover}}''' to a couple of album sleeves which you uploaded - although such images are copyrighted, "fair use" can probably be claimed for the use of these images to illustrate the albums in question on Wikipedia, but it's important to add a licencing tag as well as providing source details when uploading images. Otherwise they are liable to be deleted. Regards, CLW 12:20, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

P.S. Please read Wikipedia:Copyrights - this information is very important! CLW 12:21, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

Further to the above, if an image which you have uploaded is deleted due to a lack of licencing details, please don't simply upload the image again without adding licencing details. If you need any help, please ask. Regards, CLW 21:37, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Single stubs

Hi there.... just letting you know I cleaned up a few of the Debbie Gibson articles you created. Just a request to please make sure you adhere to MoS styles (songs are in quotes and albums are italicized) and be sure to add a stub tag and at least one category. Thanks... see ya! -- eo 18:26, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:OOTB.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:OOTB.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Blocked

Blocked
You have been blocked for uploading images without license information after MANY warnings for 1 week. To contest this block, add the text {{all of the Sandie Shaw images I have uploaded have simply been scans of my own copies of the singles/albums. I did mention this on several of the uploads. Apologies for not mentioning it on the ones I didn't}} on this page, along with an explanation of why you believe this block to be unjustified. You can also email the blocking administrator or any administrator from this list. Please be sure to include your username (if you have one) and IP address in your email.

Please do not erase warnings on this page. Doing so is also considered vandalism. Konstable 11:43, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Please take this time to review Wikipedia:Image use policy and Wikipedia:Image copyright tags--Konstable 11:43, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

You seemed to have misunderstood the copyright issues. Even though they are your own copies the images of the covers are still copyrighted by their creators. So you need to label them as copyrighted and explain why it is legal to use them here under "fair use" - see Wikipedia:Fair use on how to do this. More specifically I think the {{albumcover}} tag should be right for you. I will unblock you, but please take a look at those pages and be sure to put license tags (full list here: Wikipedia:Image copyright tags) on evey image you upload. Without these it is illegal for us to hold them on Wikipedia, so a lot of the images are getting deleted, which takes up a lot of the administrators' time.--Konstable 20:40, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Album images

Hi, another message concerning these. From now on, please replace the bot's template with this one, {{albumcover}}, which I have been having to do for you. Thanks in advance, DVD+ R/W 04:18, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I noticed you created the (There's) Always Something There to Remind Me. It appears that you do not have that article in your watchlist. You may want to add it to your watchlist so that you can catch any vandalism that may be done. Thanks!  :) —Wknight94 (talk) 17:34, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:On The Radio.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:On The Radio.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. feydey 17:04, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
