[edit] Adding external links
As I indicated on my talk page in reply to Anthony's question:
- There are three problems with the maps - one is that we don't normally have multiple links to a single website - four links to one is excessive. Another is that we need some way to limit links, otherwise we would become nothing but a link-farm. The third thing is that the maps themselves are full of advertising (for example, the Kodak icons everywhere). It looks like the links were added more for the purpose of directing traffic to your website, rather than for the purpose of improving the article. The third criterion is the most important one - make a convincing case that the purpose of adding the links is for the good of the article, not for the good of the recipient link. I am sympathetic to anything Caribbean, but I need to look at it from the point of view of the encyclopaedia project. Guettarda 18:27, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
