Karnprayag is a city and a municipal board in Chamoli District in the Indian state of Uttaranchal. Karnaprayag is situated at the confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Pindar.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Karn Prayag had a population of 6976. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Karn Prayag has an average literacy rate of 76%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 69%. In Karn Prayag, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

There is One Boys(GIC, Karnaprayag) and One Girls(GGIC, Karanprayag) Inter College in Karnaprayag. These Schools have been producing superb talent over years. There is a Degree College offering BA, BSc, BCom and an ITI as well in this beauti ful place.
