Karen Lende O'Connor is an American equestrian rider. She was born February 17, 1958. Joanne and Phillip Lende were her parents and she has two brothers, Steven and Chip. She grew up in Bolton, Massachusetts.

Karen got her first horse, Midnight, for her 11th birthday. The Pony Club made Karen interested in eventing. Her main horse when she was younger was a Connemara named Erin's Shamrock. She did her first Three-Day Event with him at Radnor, and rode him up to the Advanced Level. Karen started competing internationally in 1979, when she was only 21 years old.
