Karen (name)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Karen is a common feminine first name in Danish and Norwegian derived from the Greek "καθερα" ("káthera") meaning "pure", similarly to Katherine. It has since been commonly adopted in English, as well.
"Keren" also has a source in the bible (Job 42:14). One of Job's daughters born after he recovered from his suffering was named "Keren Hapuch" meaning "Reversal of Fortune". The word "Keren" in Hebrew means horn, as well as fund or fortune as it relates to the "Cornacopia" - Horn of plenty.
