Karen, Kenya

Karen is a suburb of Nairobi in Kenya, lying south west of the city centre. Named after Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa, who settled in the area, it borders the Ngong Road Forest and is home to the Ngong Racecourse. It is also known for its large European population. Karen and Langata jointly form a somewhat isolated area of high-income housing.
The Nyumbani Orphanage is located in Karen.
