Karel Čurda

Karel Čurda,(October 10, 1911, Nová Hlína near TřeboňApril 29, 1947, Prague) was a Czech World War II soldier from the Czechoslovak army in exile. He was parachuted into Bohemia in 1941 as a member of the sabotage group "Out Distance". He is known for his betrayal of the Czech assassins of top Nazi Reinhard Heydrich in Prague (see Operation Anthropoid). His rewards were 1 million Reichsmark, a new German name and a German wife. After the war Čurda was sentenced to death for treason and hanged.
