Karcher Mall is an indoor shopping mall in Nampa, Idaho which was built in 1965. It was the first indoor shopping venue in the Treasure Valley, and the only one for several decades until the Boise Towne Square Mall was built in 1988 in Boise. Since that time, Karcher Mall has deteriorated, as most business, including anchor JCPenney, had moved to the newer and bigger mall in Boise which caused a bankruptcy filing in the late 1990s. Under new ownership, the mall has updated its interior design. With the population in Nampa steadily rising, the Karcher Mall has become busier in recent years. Even though it closed it's Karcher Mall location, J.C. Penney plans to re-enter Nampa's market by building a store in a new major retail center known as the Nampa Gateway Center in 2007. ^[1] On October 19, 2006, Burlington Coat Factory announced they were opening a store it the vacant Troutman's Emporium spot in 2007. ^[2]
