Karameikos
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Kingdom of Karameikos is a fictional nation located within the Mystara campaign setting, in the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game.
Karameikos is noted for its highly forested flatlands, and tall mountains which make up the northern border of the nation. Karameikos is one of the most frequently visited areas of the 'Known World' region of Mystara.
The nation was the Grand Duchy of Karameikos, but following the great war between Thyatis and Alphatia, which left Thyatis's economy in ruins, Duke Stefan declared himself the King that he already was in all but name, and rose to become one of the most powerful nations in the Known World. Karameikos is ruled by King Stefan Karameikos, who gained rulership over the nation in AC 970 by trading his ancestral lands, the Duchy of Machetos, to Emperor Thincol of Thyatis in exchange free and clear autonomous rulership over the Imperial Province of Traladara.
