Karakura Town
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Karakura Town (空座町 Karakura-chō) is a fictional town in Tokyo in the anime and manga series Bleach. It borders Naruki City (Naruki-shi) on the west.
Notable locations in Karakura include the Urahara Shōten, Karakura High School, the Karakura Hospital (owned by Ryūken Ishida), and the Kurosaki Family Clinic.
All the events of Bleach take place in Karakura, until Ichigo and company travel to Soul Society. During the Soul Society arc, Karakura is briefly seen, as Don Kanonji and the Karakura Superheroes battle hollows. Karakura is again the center of the Bleach storyline when Ichigo returns from Soul Society.
Karakura has been stated as the location in which the royal key (ōkagi) must be used in order to access the dimensional space of the king of Soul Society. This also requires a concentration of 100,000 souls in Karakura.
All notable characters in Bleach who attend the Karakura High School live in the town, except the families of Keigo Asano and Mizuiro Kōjima. Most of them, including Ichigo, Orihime and Chad, live in the south of Karakura.
