Posts about the listenership of WVRV (WMVN) is based on personal hearsay or preferences and are not based on facts and figures. There is no Facts/figures that the overall reaction in St. Louis has been "negative" to the new format of WMVN (101.1 FM). In fact, the station is receiving much publicity over the new format and music choices. Listenership facts and figures should be noted and posted after three arbitron rating books to report trends on the new format. Ratings at WVRV have remained mainly flat since Fall 2005. 12+ overall WVRV has hung onto 11-13 spot (making it one of the worse rated strong signals in St. Louis). Among target audience> Women 25-54 remained fairly flat too during the past year. Adding Steve and DC morning show also showed very disappointing numbers and improvements in morning listenership. It is ture that employees were released without notice. This unfortunately happens in Radio/Television during Format changes. Most radio professionals and employees "understand" or "accept" this business and the cut throat operations that happen sometimes suddenly and drastically in broadcasting companies.
