Kaoru Ikeya

Kaoru Ikeya (池谷薫) is a Japanese astronomer.

He discovered a number of comets, including the celebrated bright C/1965 S1 (Ikeya-Seki) and the periodic comet 153P/Ikeya-Zhang.

Asteroid 4037 Ikeya is named after him.
