[edit] Categories and stub tags
Hello. When creating new articles, please include them in a category and, if it is a stub, add a stub tag. You can see all the available stub tags at: Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types. Category:Categories is the topmost category, where you can see all the other categories. Thanks. JoaoRicardotalk 05:21, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
Question for Kane5187; why are you changing tags on Categories for Osama bin Laden so that "bin" has a capital "B" instead of the lowercase "b" found in the official spelling of his name? -Syberghost 01:53, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Albumbox uniformity
This is a good endeavor, however I saw you change <br /> to <br>. Please don't do that since the former is correcting since the html entity must be escaped and that is how you escape single tags. Just to mae pages properly validate. gren グレン ? 17:04, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "Wikipedians by alma mater: Dartmouth College"
Nope, I definitely don't mind you adding me to the category. It's most of what I contribute in right now, so might as well. --└Smith120bh/TALK ┐ 04:25, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Article creation
I have been looking through the list of unwatched pages (available only to administrators) and found 13 Stitches. I see that you created this but were not watching it. You may want to go to your preferences and under the "editing" tab turn on "Add pages you edit to your watchlist". This will enable you to keep an eye out for any edits that are made to pages you create and help to revert vandalism. If you do decide to turn it on can you please drop me a note on my talk page so I can cut down my excessive watchlist. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 02:49, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Big Three (universities) / Harvard-Yale-Princeton merge
Yes, I think they should be merged. Thanks for picking that up. The title doesn't matter too much as long as every reasonable entry is a redirect... I can't see anyone actually typing in either "Big Three (universities)" or "Harvard-Yale-Princeton".
What are your thoughts on the best title for the merged article? Dpbsmith (talk) 00:52, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about the title. The reason why I was a little hesitant is because the two articles focus on very different aspects of the three schools: Big Three talks about the social and academic prestige, while the HYP focuses on the athletics; but I guess since they refer to the same thing (and use the same terms) they might do better together.
- I only stumbled upon those articles today, so I'm not very familiar with it; I'm guessing some of you guys that are working closer to the articles should decide on the name. Nevertheless, I would probably support Harvard-Yale-Princeton since it's both more literal and also has a more solid grounding in an official agreement. Dylan 03:47, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
-
- I had Big Three on my watchlist, and noticed your edit indicating there was such a similar article (didn't know about the HYP article). I slapped a merge proposal on both, with a talk page explanation on each. They definitely need to be merged - even if they are referring to different aspects (athletics vs admissions), it's different aspects of the same thing. --└Smith120bh/TALK ┐ 02:30, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Tll.jpg
I noticed that you tagged the page Image:Tll.jpg for speedy deletion with the reason "No source information, no claim of fair use. The image (in the corner) claims a copyright to Steve Tackeff, whose website (http://www.nycmusicphotographer.com/) says that ALL RIGHTS are RESERVED". However, "No source information, no claim of fair use. The image (in the corner) claims a copyright to Steve Tackeff, whose website (http://www.nycmusicphotographer.com/) says that ALL RIGHTS are RESERVED" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use one of our other deletion processes, proposed deletion or articles for deletion if you still want the article to be deleted. Thanks!
However, in this case, the image qualified for speedy deletion under CSD:G4, and has been deleted anyway. Stifle 20:38, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Jay Black
I think we should expand on this one--we should also note his career as a famous singer (see Jay Black and the Americans)--his comedic work was/is merely secondary. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stanley011 (talk • contribs) 21:11, 13 April 2006.
- That's definitely a different Jay Black. I'm going to revert your edits -- this Jay Black is in his thirties, tops. There's no way he was around in the '60s. Dylan 02:28, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Given that the Jay Black I'm referring to is far more famous than yours (just do a google search), I think mine should be the page that immediately pops up when you type in "Jay Black" and then on the top of the page it should say "For the comredian Jay Black, click here." What do you think? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stanley011 (talk • contribs) 23:10, 13 April 2006.

Hi. Back in April you tagged the above article for notability. Nothing much seems to have come of it, so I wonder if you feel the tag should be removed - or replaced by a "wikify" template?LessHeard vanU 20:03, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well, since nothing's come of it, then it should probably be put through AfD -- the idea of the notability template is that it notifies the editors that the article doesn't communicate its importance well, and allows them the opportunity to rectify that. Since no one has done so, it suggests to be that this professor isn't notable and that his article should be deleted. Removing the tag or adding a {{wikify}} won't really help it conform to the inclusion guidelines. I'll go ahead and put it through AfD if you have no objections. Dylan 20:07, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Fine by me. Thanks for responding so quickly.LessHeard vanU 20:22, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:SôberBand.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SôberBand.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok ☠ 06:41, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Tubestock.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] Now that was just awesome
Haha. On Ralph Ignatowski, I copyedited it, slapped an uncategorized tag on it, and then went off to do something else. Then I realize that I've messed up the headers, so I go back to edit it. At the very end, I saw a bunch more categories - where did they come from? It ends up that you snuck in there in the three-minute timespan to add some categories and remove the tag. Now that was just awesome. Hbdragon88 07:31, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
