Kannambra

Kannambra is a small village in Palakkad district of Kerala state, South India. It is under Alathur Taluk in Palakkad district of Kerala state, India. It is more famous for the Kannambra Vela which is celebrated on May 24. It is a miniature Thrissur Pooram and is celebrated by two rival groups represented by the villages of Kannambra and Rishinaradamangalam. Festivities include the noon panchavadyam at the Viswanatha Swamy temple inside the Kannambra Nair House, the evening melam with caparisoned elephants from both sides, followed by a grand display of fireworks at night.
