Kanimangalam

Kanimangalam is a suburb of Thrissur in the Thrissur district of the state of Kerala in south India. It is about 4 km away from Thrissur. The main center of Kanimangalam is Valiyalukkal, where the Valiyalukkal Bagavathy Temple is situated. It is on the route between Thrissur and Kodungallur.

Kanimangalam has a famous Sastha temple, which is about 0.5 km from the Valiyalukkal. There is a Siva temple near by this Sastha temple, which is about 100 m away from this. Kanimangalam pooram is one of the small poorams participating the famous Thrissur pooram. Kanimangalam Sasthavu is the first God who is participating the Thrissur Pooram festival. He is starting his journey to the pooram at 4 o'clock in the morning on the day of pooram. He will reach in the Vadakkumnathan temple at 5:30 in the morning. Then only the famous Thrissur pooram is starting. Kanimangalam is also houses of a Government Women's Polytechnic, S.N.Boy's High School, S.N.Girl's Higher Secondary School and Little Flower Convent Primary School.
As a suburb city of Thrissur, it is one of the most sought after places by people to settle.
