Kanei

Kan'ei (寛永) was a Japanese era after Genna and before Shōhō and spanned from 1624 to 1643. Reigning emperors were Go-Mizunoo, Meishō and Go-Kōmyō.

To mark the start of a new cycle of the Chinese zodiac, on 2n month 30th day of Genna 9 (1624), the era was changed to Kan'ei
