Kanat Saudabayev

Kanat Bekmyrzayevich Saudabayev is the Kazakh ambassador to the United States.[1] Saudabayev was born in the region of Almaty in 1946. He has been serving since 2000 as the ambassador of Kazakhstan to the United States of America and Canada. Previously, he has been the ambassador of Kazakhstan to the United Kingdom and Turkey.

Saudabayev has held numerous other positions in the Kazakh government as well as in the government of the Soviet Union. In the Kazakh government, these positions have included cabinet member and Minister of Foreign Affairs. In the Soviet government, his positions have included Representative of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic to the USSR and a variety of cultural positons. Before entering politics, he worked as a theater producer.

Saudabayev is married with three children.
