Kanal 5 is a Swedish commercial television channel. It is owned by the media corporation SBS Broadcasting.

The station was launched in 1989 as The Nordic Channel. In 1991, it was renamed TV5, and was subsequently renamed Femman in 1994 before becoming Kanal 5 in 1996.

The network currently owns the right to air the James Bond movies and has done so twice since the rights were acquired.
