Kanmonkyo bridge between Kyushu and Honshu, from Moji ward, Kitakyushu - another remarkable feat of Japanese civil engineering, opened on November 14, 1973. Dan-no-ura and Hinoyama mountain in Shimonoseki are visible behind the bridge. This is currently (September 2005) the 34th largest suspension bridge in the world.
