[edit] Welcome
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- To sign your posts (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!

[edit] D. C. Stephenson
Thanks for putting the D. C. Stephenson image into the Commons. However, the correct image tag is "PD" -- not "PD-USGov". It was not created by a US Government agency or employee, but by the State of Indiana, specifically the agency that is now the Indiana Department of Corrections. I've re-tagged the image as "PD". [edit] Converting Unicode Entities to Readable
Hi! How did you convert the Japanese numerical Unicode entities to readable format? Thanks. Oniows 12:25, 4 September 2005 (UTC)
- Just by doing boring Copy 'n Paste. I copied the characters from the article into the source code. With repeating characters I did a Search & Replace in a text editor. I don't know of an automated way doing this. --KAMiKAZOW 21:50, 4 September 2005 (UTC)
I think I was able to do get Mozilla to submit Unicode without converting to numericals by going to View, Character Encodings, and Customize List... I moved Unicode (UTF-8) to the top of the list. Oniows 11:30, 5 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] re: Gp2x & GP2X
Hello. I've restored Gp2x as a redirect to GP2X. It's okay to leave it like that after a move. Please see Wikipedia:Redirect. Hope this helps. Happy editing. Cheers ! :-) -- PFHLai 15:42, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Satellaview system.png
Before you remove a deletion request, you should inform what {{NowCommonsThis}} means. --KAMiKAZOW 13:45, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hello, KAMiKAZOW. I'm not sure what you're asking for. I removed your speedy request because this image didn't qualify for a speedy deletion. Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Images/Media says "Please remove images from any pages they are used in before marking them for speedy deletion." and the image was still in use on two wikipages. Hence my edit summary "no speedying of an image still in use". Also, NowCommonsThis is not a speedy-deletion criterion. -- PFHLai 15:47, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:HouseMD-logo.svg)
Thanks for uploading Image:HouseMD-logo.svg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 18:11, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] re:Tony Hawk games
Why have you moved all Tony Hawk game pages with a typographic correct apastrophe (’) to titles with a '. ' is an ancient character from the the days when typewriters and MS DOS where state of the art. Today we have Unicode. --KAMiKAZOW 22:29, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry about deleting the message when you originally posted it. Anyways, It's easier to type ' rather than ’, as ’ doesn't appear on my keyboard, whereas ' does. --GVOLTT 19:45, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
