Kamil Bednár

Kamil Bednár (July 4, 1912 in Prague - May 23, 1972 in Melník) (Prokop Kouba) was a Czech poet, translator, prose writer, dramatist and publishing house editor.

After 1931, he studied law, and then 6 years of philosophy in Charles University. After he finished his studies in 1939, he worked he at the publishing house Melantrich , starting from 1949 in the publishing house Ceskoslovenský spisovatel (Czechoslovakian writer). Since 1959 he dedicated himself only to the literature.
He was founder of the group (wild mustard) and Pevný bod (firm point) as well as author of poems, prose writings, essays, fairy tales and numerous translations from different languages.
