Kamapua'a

In Hawaiian mythology, Kamapuaʻa ("hog son") is a hog-man fertility god. Kamapuaʻa is best known for his romantic pursuit of the fire goddess Pele, who he shared a turbulent relationship with. Despite Pele's power, Kamapuaʻa's persistence allows him to turn her lava rock into fertile soil. He often appeared as a handsome chief, but could also take the shape of various plants and animals.
