[edit] Kazoo user templates
What Wikipedia:Instruments section would the kazzoo fit into? other? It doesn't seem to fit into brass or woodwind.

- Well, it's made of metal, possibly brass, so how about putting it there in lack of a better section? kallemax 18:10, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] HMS Gotland.jpg
While you've put a license on your upload of HMS Gotland.jpg, you also need to state the source of the picture, so that it can be verified that the license is correct etc. If you don't do this, the image is liable to be deleted as an unsourced image. Cheers --Pak21 11:23, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
- Source has now been added! However, if you had copy-pasted the license text into Google, you could easily have found the source yourself. kallemax 13:28, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Google Earth images
Please don't upload Google Earth images (see Talk:2005_Kashmir_earthquake#Google_Earth_Image) - Google has expressly denied permission to use them.[1] Images you obtained from NASA World Wind, which is very similar, are all public domain and can be used freely in Wikipedia. feydey 02:47, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- Whoops! Downloading World Wind now, will upload new versions of the images ASAP. kallemax 14:37, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Ula_class.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Ula_class.png. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 05:38, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Black Sea Fleet composition
Hi.Thank you for adding that list there. However, I suspect some subordination mistakes in your list (probably a result of mistranslation from Russian). Would you please provide links to your source so I can check it? I'm a native RU/UK speaker and a military fun back im my school years.
BTW, if that source you use contained Ukrainian Navy composition I would be just happy. Best wishes, Ukrained 18:46, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:USS Theodore Roosevelt observed by KNM Utvær.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:USS Theodore Roosevelt observed by KNM Utvær.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Wgfinley 06:38, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Taxi 3 Ski Stunt
I noticed the Peugeot in the picture seems to have a white halo around it, particularly noticable on the underside and looks to me like it was superimposed. The car also seems a bit brighter than the background. I wonder if the car is really performing this stunt or is a special effect. A lot of auto stunts in recently made movies are being done in CGI. I never seen this movie though so I can't be certain. Cyberia23 19:58, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:S10.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. [edit] Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated quite regularly. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines outline some things to include.
- Interested in working on a more complete article? The military history peer review and collaboration departments would welcome your help!
- Interested in a particular area of military history? We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, or periods.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 00:20, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:1970s Honda Z.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:1970s Honda Z.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 20:47, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
