Kalku

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kalku or Calcu, in Chilean folklore and the Mapuche mythology, is a witch or shaman, usually an evil one, but not necessarily. However, the good shamans are referred to as Machis, so as to not denote the witches' malice. Its origins are in Mapuche mythology.

The kalku has the power of using wekufe (spirits or creatures wicked). An example of wekufe is the Nguruvilu.
