Kalandans

The Kalandans were a spacefaring, sentient humanoid species in the fictional Star Trek universe. There was no knowledge of their existence in the United Federation of Planets until 2268, when a landing party from the USS Enterprise arrived on a seemingly desolate planet in the episode That Which Survives. This planet was a former Kalandan Outpost.

The entire Kalandan race had died 10,000 years earlier from a deadly microorganism, apparently created during the construction of one of the artificial planets that they used as outposts, and transported back to their homeworld.
