[edit] Oswax
Hi! Thanks for the comments on my talk. I read your userpage, and look forward to working with you on the Liber Linteus. Very few people know anything about this, so it would be good to have another person look it over. I've been working a little to get up to a better standard. Pictures are something that would be great! Oswax 16:57, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AIS
There was a quite a bit in your AIS atricle that is not in Automatic Identification System. I hope you will copy stuff over. -- RHaworth 20:31, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Age of Consent
Hi, thanks for your edits on the AoC page. However, the link to Interpol has been discussed before. Their website has been found to be out of date in many respects. Also, alphabetising the list has also been discussed before. It was decided that it was more manageable in regional order. The discussion concluded with this statement: "Reorganizing the list alphabetically would of course make it easier to find a single country that one might want to search for in the list, not unlike thumbing through the yellow pages. But if you just want to browse randomly, the geographical ordering by continent seems more logical, and so I don't agree that the strictly alphabetical order is necessarily more user friendly." This was some time ago. The whole point is possibly moot however because the entire AoC page is undergoing a rewrite and restructure. If you want to join in on the project drop by the talk page. Cheers! --Monotonehell 04:13, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Redirects
Just so you know, when you want to redirect a page (when you want something to a "see such and such") instead of keeping two articles the syntax #REDIRECT [[page name here]] is the accepted syntax. You got the bot auto warning because the redirect didn't match the pattern, I know its good faith and I've fixed it for you. If you have any questions feel free to leave me a message :) -- Tawker 07:51, 23 March 2006 (UTC) -- Tawker 21:47, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

- And I see you've already fixed it, cheers :) -- Tawker 21:47, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Truth in Advertising
Hi Kaiwen1. This comment was originally in a section on your voting page re: anonymous edits, but was removed by Canderra for reasons which mystify me. I add it here only because I worry that due to its removal you might not have had a chance to read it. I only put it there originally because I hadn't figured out how to reach your user page here.
- I've already gone into my reasons for supporting anonymous editing above, so I won't belabor the point. I would like to simply state that if this change is adopted by Wikipedia, it will invalidate the motto of "the encyclopedia anyone can edit", since some people for technical reasons can only edit anonymously.
- This being the case, I would like to respectfully request that if the result of the straw poll is to support your intention, that when you forward the report to the Wikimedia board, that you include a recommendation that for purposes of remaining honest and preserving Wikipedia's credibility, that the motto phrase "anyone can edit" be struck from the main page, as it will no longer apply. Please, inform me on my talk page when you're ready to forward your results, Kaiwen1; I'm very interested in keeping abreast of developments.
- Cheers,
Kasreyn 03:48, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mail Order Brides
OK a deal is a deal; I thought the anti fraud would not have violated our agreement but apparently it did; HEY ; how do you send messages on wikipedia? Is this the right way??? Michaellovesnyc michaellovesnyc
Hey come on; I added some good stuff on the mail order brides; how about all those demographics about the imbalance of men and women in Russia? How is that POV and not the stereotype of women just marrying to move up ? You mean American women don't do that? You were never married were you? Please put the demographic stuff; that is good info; Michaellovesnyc michaellovesnyc
I referenced the CIA factbook; thats pretty reliable; look let me just put in the numbers OK?
Michaellovesnycmichaellovesnyc
Michaellovesnyc Hey ! I did source the CIA Factbook ; what is the problem; the numbers and data are right there; and there is no country anywhere where you don't have to meet the fiance first; you are being ridiculous; the other gernal stuff about MOBS wanting to marry up is POV much more than this - where is that cite? Please Stop undoing my thoroughly researched work; you can look at the CIA factbook yourself; Michaellovesnyc 19:07, 19 May 2006 (UTC) michaellovesnyc
Hi Gavin, I've submitted the dispute about edits on mail-order bride to the Mediation Cabal here. I thought it might help to get another opinion. --The Famous Movie Director 00:17, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Hi. I've now begun drafting a user RfC against Michael; it's here. To make it into a stronger case when it is submitted to mediation, please help edit it and add evidence about the problem and how you've helped try to solve it. There has been little discussion between the editors involved in this dispute, so it's difficult for any one person to do it alone. I'd really appreciate your help--I hope one day we can get this article up to a much higher standard. --Grace 02:27, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Hey Gavin, do you think Michaellovesnyc ought to be banned from Wikipedia altogether? I don't know how to present a case or anything, but look at this. User:24.45.47.102 is pretty obviously him (they both edit mail-order bride almost exclusively and Michael responds on the anon user's talk page). When he's not editing mail-order bride, Michael makes totally inappropriate additions like this and this and this and he apparently added himself to the Schmitt disambiguation page (his first edit). Meanwhile the anonymous account makes edits so inappropriate they could be considered trolling, like this (gee, someone got burned) and this. He's stood in the way of any progress on the mail-order bride article and his recent edits show that he will persistently take out the bits he doesn't like, regardless of whether they are referenced. What do you think? --Grace 10:35, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] RfC
Hi Gavin. Having finished my exams for the semester, I finally got around to submitting the RfC against User:Michaellovesnyc. Sorry it took so long. The page is at Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Michaellovesnyc. Please edit it to add any other evidence you want to add, and sign the "Users certifying the basis for this dispute" section, since you were one of those who tried and failed to resolve the dispute. Thanks! --Grace 23:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Anon editing poll
Perhaps time to retire this? It doesn't seem to be generating anything constructive, rather it's basically a series of votes for strongly held positions which are then somewhat aggressively responded to by people voting the other way. --bainer (talk) 16:41, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
